Lofoten Islands Expedition

Exploring Extreme Beauty through Photography and Videography

About This Trip

Join Photographer Matthew Trabold and Videographer Tyler Rousseau on a trip to the Lofoten Islands in Norway - only accepting 8 people.

On this trip, we will show you a place that you likely would never see on your own. These islands are some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world. They are north of the 68th parallel and get lots of extreme weather. This extreme weather can provide for incredible photo and video opportunities to capture the northern lights and winter landscapes unlike any scene around the world.

Whether you're interested in increasing your knowledge and skills in video and photography, or simply wanting to explore the most beautiful parts of the world, this will be a trip of a lifetime!

On this trip you can expect to gain an understanding of how to capture the magic of this beautiful place through photography and video. Matthew and Tyler will share their skills on-site during expeditions and also host daily educational workshops. The expedition will take you through snow-covered landscapes, (hopefully) experience the Northern Lights, and witness unforgettable sunrises and sunsets.

A Little bit about Lofoten

Lofoten (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈlùːfuːtn̩]) is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway.

Lofoten has distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. There are two towns, Svolvær and Leknes – the latter is approximately 169 km (105 mi) north of the Arctic Circle and approximately 2,420 km (1,500 mi) away from the North Pole.

Lofoten, in Northern Norway, is one of the world’s most stunning places. Even Icelanders say so and they live in a pretty epic country. This adventure is a five day excursion of wintery landscapes, unpredictable weather, colorful auroras, good company, whisky and good food. Oh, and photography.

The workshop begins with us picking you up at Evenes Airport (Harstad / Narvik) on the 27th. Arrivals may differ, so we’re not setting a specific time of pickup as it varies, but please try to be there no later than 15:00.
